Who are the artists who will be playing at the 2015 Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival?

Our 2015 festival will feature a few returning favorites from festivals past and some new exciting acts. They will be traveling from Switzerland, Spain, Pakistan, Cuba, the UK, Canada, the United States and Mexico City, all to share the festival stage here in beautiful Zihuatanejo.

I bought a Platinum Pass/Founders’ Club membership through the Kickstarter Campaign. What do I do now?

Thank you for being one of our amazing Kickstarter backers! You can pick up your pass at the ticket office every day between 3 and 6pm in Colonia la Madera on Calle Adelita (in front of Rubens Hamburgers). You can also pick it up at our new Meet the Artists Brunch on Sunday 8 March or at our Will Call table at the Opening Concert.

I bought a Platinum Pass / Founders’ Club Membership online and it says I have to print out my ticket. I thought Platinum Passes were badges?

Your print at home ticket is your receipt, bring it with you to the Ticket Office the Week before the Festival or to the WILL CALL table Opening Day, to pick up your Platinum Pass (it will be a badge with your name on it, it looks snazzy and you can wear it around your neck all week.)

When & How can I buy passes for the 2015 festival?

Platinum Passes are $110 USD (approx. 1475 MXN) include in & out privileges to opening concert, closing jam, all beach and gala concerts.

Want even more access? Join our Founders’ Club for $250 USD (approx. 3355 MXN). Founders’ Club members receive VIP access to private artist events; entrance & reserved seating at opening & closing concerts; in & out privileges to all beach and gala dinners; with other perks!

*Prices only cover the cost of entrance. Food and drink prices are extra. Gala Dinners / Cocktails have limited seating. You must make a reservation to ensure entrance.  (This applies to Founders’ Club, Platinum Pass and individual ticket holders.)

What about tickets to an individual event?

Tickets for individual events will be available at the door.

Individual ticket prices are as follows:
Opening/Closing Concerts: 150 MXN cover charge
Beach Shows: 100 MXN cover charge
Gala Dinners / Gala Cocktails: 200 MXN cover charge

I made a reservation and then I made a change to it. I received an initial confirmation email but no email to confirm the change. How do I know the change was successful? 

It should have given you a success message that the change was made, if you didn’t see that or don’t remember, you can log back in and click on Change A Reservation, when you put in your reservation information it will pull up the updated information.

Where & When is the Opening Concert?

The 2015 ZIGF Opening Concert will be held on Sunday, March 8 on Playa Madera in Zihuatanejo. We will have the entire beach cordoned off for an amazing beach concert experience with seating for 1000 and local restaurants will be offering a wide variety of delicious and affordable food.

The festival will again be operating a beer tent with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink service at accessible prices.

There are 3 public access entrances to the beach: the main street access at Hotel Palacios in Colonia Madera, stair access from Calle Adelita or via the Madera beach walkway which is entered via foot bridge near the archeological museum in Centro. If you are picking up a Founder’s Club or Platinum Pass, these will be available at the “Will Call” table at the main street access entrance, located in front of Bistro del Mar restaurant.

The Opening Concert is an exciting musical extravaganza with four hours of incredible international music. Each artist will perform 2-3 songs to offer a preview of the musical magic that is to come throughout the week! The cover charge is $20 USD per person (270 MXN) – that’s right, $20 USD for FOUR HOURS of music!

Doors open at 6pm. The concert starts at 7pm and ends around 10pm. Seating is 1st come, 1st serve – we have plenty of seats so there is no need to show up hours early. (You won’t be allowed to enter before 6 anyway!)

When and where will the other concerts be?

We will have nightly beach and gala concerts Monday through Friday of the festival as well as special workshops, the free children’s concert, our public presentation in La Cancha and our closing jam concert on Playa Madera..

Where is La Cancha?

La Cancha (the court) is the waterfront town square in downtown Zihuatanejo on Paseo del Pescador. It is named for the basketball court at its center and is sometimes referred to as the Zocalo which is the traditional term for a town square in Mexico. Ask any taxi to take you to “La caan-cha” and they will know exactly where you want to be.


Are kids welcome at the festival?

Children are very welcome at the festival! The opening/closing concerts and beach shows are in open air with plenty of space which makes them quite kid friendly. The galas are sit down dinners in upscale restaurants, often featuring classical music which requires quiet attention. Please use your best judgement to decide if galas are an appropriate choice for your children. Children under 4 are FREE. 12 and under are half-price.
