Mission Statement

The Guitar Fest logo was designed by Tamara Weaver.
The Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival, governed by ZI-Guitarfest A.C., a Mexican registered non-profit association, is dedicated to creating an international world class event to bring first rate musicians and appreciative audiences from across the globe to beautiful Zihuatanejo, Mexico, to generate tourism and raise cultural awareness within the community all the while raising money for art and cultural endeavors in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.

The festival committee is comprised of volunteers and the musicians themselves provide their services for free. The festival relies on a wide outpouring of community support: individuals and local and international businesses donate funds, meals, airfare and transportation, accommodations and services each year, making the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival a true community event.

The current active GuitarFest committee members are:

Jeanne Pezzi, Rick Carpenter, Dawn Schmidt, Rafael Arias, Pat Armstrong and Eloisa Rodriguez
