Guitarfest 2005 Feedback from musicians, participants and public...

Guitar Fest 2005 poster and program coverBack to Guitarfest history and past festivals

My gosh, what an amazing, amazing, wonderful, exciting and dramatic week. Please keep us in mind for next year, Steve and I would both love to come back, and I'll bring a free guitar for an outstanding guitar student at the school - which we can organize somehow between now and the 3rd annual Z-fest...

... Many thanks for a wonderful time there, and I look forward to seeing you next year. Sincerely,

Ricardo - Prof. Richard Smith (Musician)

I just wanted to write and tell you how much I enjoyed participating in the Zihuafest (I almost wrote "your" Fest but to tell you the truth, I felt so much a part of it that it's really "our" Fest). You are all such wonderful people! I'll always hold the memory of this Fest as one of the most cherished events of my life. Please give my warmest regards to EVERYBODY concerned.

I am currently working on a new piece: Zihuafest, theme and variations in which I hope to write variations in several or diferent genres/styles played there.

Una brazo a todos

It was the most fun and I really appreciated the opportunity to photograph such great, talented musicians in such a beautiful location.

We left zihua today, and it was extremely difficult and emotional to say goodbye to such a beautiful place and beautiful generous people with whom we have become so attached and I want to say a heart felt thanks for inviting us to zihua. We're now on our way to Paracho to get a guitar made.....!

Both Kelli and I enjoyed our time with you in zihua and being part of such a cool and worthwhile, brilliantly organised festival inspires us to do all we can to spread the word about you guys and your festival in zihua and we very much hope to return next year.

(I) wanted to make sure you got my message, to say, "Thank You !" for a wonderful time in Zihua.  Your organizational efforts were terrific, and the orientation dinner was especially nice to help get to know everyone.

I really appreciated meeting and hearing all the musicians in the short time I was there. The mix of music styles was enjoyable.  Your committee of Zihua folks all were helpful and welcoming.  I hope you made the kind of money you expected for the music school.

It is a specially nice combination of raising money for a charity that helps the local community while providing entertainment for the tourists on vacation. I was glad to be part of it.

Thank you. I'm still speechless so will make this short. Please know that you gave me and the others a gift that we won't ever forget. Magical and sublime..

love and coconuts,

...Lots of love to you and thanks for an incredible time!

Thank you so much for having me at your festival. I was completely blown away. I miss being there and you guys a lot. You were so nice with responding to my email messages, and it was great finally to meet you in person.

Please say hi to Rick and all who has made it such a wonderful experience for us.

Take care, Goh Kurosawa(Musician)

TO: Z Int. Guitar Fest. Committee

We made a point of taking our vacation this year to Z after reading about the Int.Guitar Fest. This is our second visit to Z. The first for the festival.

We were not disappointed. Thank you to all the committee for the great work. Thanks to all the wonderful musicians. The concept of music education is something much needed into today's world- what a great cause.

We are still reeling from the great time we had. The magic of Zhiua.  Down to the beach in the morning into town at night to enjoy the venues. The spirit and camaraderie of all the musicians was invigorating- not to mention the quality and professionalism of the music. By the time we made it to the closing concert at El Pueblitos (sp?) We felt like part of a family. I had the pleasure of sitting in on bass at a jam session at Ricks Bar with Josie-Peter-Tom- Bebo-Jorge-Leticia & Chris what a great time.

Thanks again - all your time and hard effort is appreciated. We are looking forward to next year- see you then.. I will be sporting my Int. Fes. T- shirt proudly this summer.
