The Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival is a sponsor and donor funded community festival. Advertising revenues, sponsorships and cash donations go toward festival expenses and we depend on the participation and support of the community, local and international business, service providers, airlines, individuals and associations to make this event possible every year.

Our largest expense every year is airline tickets and transportation expenses to bring international musicians to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, we also use generated funds for artists accommodations and meals, support personnel and technicians, printing costs (posters, fliers, badges, banners…), publicity expenses (local and international radio, online and newspaper ads), sound equipment and other necessary equipment rentals, administrative, accounting, immigration and legal costs.

ZIGF is a Mexican registered non-profit association, all donations are tax deductible in Mexico.

SPONSOR ZIGF with ADVERTISING, individuals or businesses large and small are welcome to advertise in festival promotion materials, it shows you have community spirit and gets your business in front of thousands of festival goers. For information on Advertising packages, click here.

Sponsor a Musician with a cash donation to buy their airline ticket.

Airline tickets to bring musicians to Mexico are usually around 1,000 USD per artist, some slightly more, others slightly less, and artists coming from further away than the USA or Canada can be much more. Our limited funding has kept our focus on artists from North America and Europe, but we have always had more international ambitions.

-Every year we receive submissions from artists further abroad that we would love to be able to consider, but cannot afford to bring. (We have had to turn down some wonderful artists from Serbia, India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa…) If you would like to help us bring international artists to Zihuatanejo, consider sponsoring a cost-prohibitive international artist. Pick the part of the world or pick the maximum amount you’ll spend, we’ll find the artist.

- Are you a classical, blues, or flamenco aficionado? Sponsor an artist in a genre you would like to see represented in the festival. Give us the genre, we’ll find the artist.

-Have a specific artist you would like to sponsor? Have them apply through the normal channels (deadlines Dec. 1) and make sure they mention (and/or you let us know) that they will be sponsored. We can’t guarantee that they will be selected, but sponsored musicians are always appreciated and often selected.

-Want to see cultural exchange from your part of the world with Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo? Consider sponsoring an artist or a delegation from a specific region. Have them apply through the normal channels (deadlines Dec. 1) and make sure they mention (and/or you let us know) that they will be sponsored. We welcome exchanges with Sister-City programs, Chambers of Commerce, Tourism boards and individuals who want their home-town talent to come to Zihuatanejo.
